Coffee With Mom.

A couple weeks ago I got a text from my mom that read “coffee with mom?” No agenda, no errands, no special occasion… Just coffee. As we sat and talked, I was reminded that no matter how old I get, she’ll always think of me as her child. I’m 45 years old, married, raising a daughter, and yet I know without hesitation that if I called and needed help, my mom would drop everything and be there. Whether it’s helping with life’s bigger moments, celebrating milestones, or just listening when life feels heavy, moms have this incredible way of showing up without hesitation.

That’s the thing about a mother’s love. It doesn’t retire, it doesn’t clock out, and it doesn’t stop when her children become adults. A mother’s love is one of the few things in life that is steady, constant, and deeply unconditional, and if I’m being honest, I think it’s something many of us take for granted at times.

Life gets busy, we assume there will always be another coffee date, another phone call, another shopping trip, another conversation, but the older I get. the more I appreciate those simple moments that once felt ordinary.

Having coffee with my mom, talking about life, family, memories, or sometimes nothing important at all… those moments matter more than we realize.

As daughters, mothers, and parents ourselves, we begin to understand the depth of love that comes with wanting the absolute best for our children, no matter how old they are.

Maybe that’s why moms worry, why they check in, why they continue to give, encourage, support, and love long after we have grown up. Because being a mom never really stops. So maybe this week. make time for coffee with your mom. No agenda. No special occasion. Just because.

One day, those simple conversations may become the moments we treasure most!
